Eneco to sponsor NatWest Island Games cycling

24 May 2011

Eneco will be sponsoring the cycling events at the NatWest Island Games.

The sponsorship is part of Eneco’s continued commitment to the Isle of Wight and other communities in a close proximity to the proposed offshore wind park which is anticipated to be fully operational by 2019.

Eneco has a long standing interest in cycling as it supports the company’s commitment to sustainability and core brand values, which includes working towards a sustainable future with affordable and available energy for everybody.  As part of Eneco’s commitment to sustainability, it intends to supply energy from sustainable sources to all customers.

The company already has experience with cycling events as it runs the Eneco Tour, a large seven day road cycling race for professional racers in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Guy Madgwick, director for Eneco in the UK, says: “Eneco is looking forward to being involved in the cycling events for the NatWest Island Games. Our experience with the Eneco Tour and involvement in Navitus Bay make sponsorship of the events a perfect match.”

“Eneco’s involvement is an important part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and the Isle of Wight community, and I believe our experience with the Eneco Tour can be of benefit to the Games.”

The cycling, which takes place over four days, will be held at various venues across the Isle of Wight. Here is a full list of the events:
