About Eneco

Eneco’s roots go back to the middle of the nineteenth century. The Company we now know as Eneco had a history of joint ventures and mergers before emerging in its current form in 1995 as an integrated energy company owned by 60 municipalities in the Netherlands, the largest of which are Rotterdam, The Hague and Delft.

Eneco’s headquarters are in Rotterdam. The Company specialises in the production, trading, transmission and supply of gas, electricity and heat and related services to over 2 million customers in the Netherlands.

Eneco wants to be the most future oriented energy service provider in the North-West European market. Committed and proactive, we work towards a sustainable future with the aim of affordable and low carbon energy for everybody.

Eneco wishes to be an example and a source of inspiration to others by demonstrating that a transition from fossil based to sustainable energy is technically possible and economically viable in today’s markets.

Eneco increasingly aims for strategic international expansion. Countries in which we are taking our message of sustainable energy include Belgium, The United Kingdom, Germany and France. On a global scale, we are also active in the trading of all energy products and CO2 certificates.
