Clarification: NBDL March 2014 Newsletter
“In its newsletter of March 2014, Navitus Bay Development Limited made a statement to the effect that its proposed development will not put at risk the Natural World Heritage Site status of the Jurassic Coast. We would like to clarify that this is our own conclusion, reached following a thorough analysis of all the potential impacts from the project on the attributes of the Jurassic Coast that comprise its designation and its Outstanding Universal Value. This analysis is documented in a Heritage Impact Assessment that formed part of our Environmental Statement, submitted to the Planning Inspectorate in April 2014.
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport said “Our overall conclusion, on the basis of the evidence presented so far, is that while the proposed wind farm will have some impact on the World Heritage property, there should be no significant impact on Outstanding Universal Value.”
We would like to make clear, however, that UNESCO has not yet expressed a view on the scheme.”

Schedule 9 Statement
As an electricity generation licence holder under the Electricity Act 1989, NBDL has a duty under Section 38 to prepare a statement in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Act. The statement, known as a Schedule 9 Statement, & sets out how NBDL intend to preserve amenity and protect fisheries.
