Tennyson's monument - Isle of Wight

Isle of Wight

If the wind park goes ahead, the boundary of the Navitus Bay Wind Park would be located approximately 17.5 kilometres (or 10.9 miles) from the Isle of Wight at its nearest point. On this page you can see how the wind park would look from a footpath overlooking the Needles.

The Navitus Bay Wind Park would generate enough renewable energy to power approximately 700,000 homes*.

* The figure has been calculated with a site-specific capacity factor of 35% and is based on DECC’s 2005-2012 average annual domestic household electricity consumption of 4,229kWh.
