Local Economy
The Navitus Bay Wind Park will support growth in southern England and boost the local economy in a number of ways.
£1.62 billion - the potential economic value Navitus Bay can add to the region over the life time of the project.
£6 million - how much we have spent in the local area since the project began.
1,700 - the minimum number of jobs which we estimate could be created during the construction and installation phases of the project.
140 - the estimated number of full time jobs (skilled technicians and administrative support) that will be created annually at a permanent Operations and Maintenance base at a port in the region, contributing around £590 million to the regional economy over the 25 year lifecycle of the project.
£2 million - the funding secured by Bournemouth through the Government's Coastal Communities Fund to build a pioneering coastal tourism academy. The Fund receives its financial support through the licensing agreements The Crown Estate enters into with offshore wind developers, including Navitus Bay.
