Notice to Mariners - Geotechnical Site Investigation
Mariners are advised that:
1. From approximately 26/02/13 for 1 - 2 weeks, the Survey vessel Flatholm will be conducting a geotechnical site investigation at the designated areas identified below.
2. The investigation involves Geotechnical coring on approximately 22 locations in total. Works will be undertaken on a 12hr basis and Flatholm will either remain onsite overnight or return to sheltered waters/port throughout the campaign. Flatholm will remain stationary for approx 30minutes during seabed geotechnical work. Mariners are requested to keep well clear (minimum 500 metres) and pass slowly, particularly when the vessel is operational and manoeuvring.
3. A listening watch will be maintained on VHF maritime channels 16 and 12.
4. A further notice will be issued when the investigation is complete.
